Project DURGA (Dungarpur Renewable Energy Association Pvt Ltd) an initiative of IIT Mumbai, empowered tribal women of 4 Cluster Level Federations (CLFs) of SHGs, which distributed 40,000 lamps and raised over ₹25 Lakhs under the successful SoUL (Solar Urja Lamp) initiative. 

Blue Planet has motivated and supported the tribal women in creating a vibrant eco-system for their Solar PV Panels manufacturing plant in Dungarpur, owned by them.​

Blue Planet undertakes the training of rural women in accessing and weaving natural materials like straw, reeds and palm leaves to make thatch panels for use

in the construction of eco-friendly roofs. This activity, using locally available resources with assured long-term availability can be a valuable supplement to their family income, thereby creating an innovative livelihood opportunity for them.  This initiative supports sustainable practices by. Women can make these in their spare time and sell these high-quality, durable and eco-friendly thatch panels in local markets.  Forming cooperatives helps manage production ensuring fair profit distribution, while partnerships with construction companies and eco-resorts can help create a customer base for sales,
